Anna voor de Wind

Amsterdam-based clarinettist Anna voor de Wind is completely dedicated to contemporary music. Being a core member of the Nieuw Ensemble for years, an alumni of the Ensemble Modern Academy and a frequent guest with Asko Schoenberg she also likes putting her own projects together working as close as possible with fellow musicians, composers and other makers.

With her technical capabilities and expression, she is a much sought-after musician for composers of this generation. Her experience extends to collaborations with composers such as Rebecca Saunders, Mark Andre and George Aperghis, Thanasis Deligianis, Wilbert Bulsink, Noriko Koide, Giuliano Bracci and Trevor Grahl.

As we are here and now, to her it only makes sense to play the music that is written today. She loves putting herselves on new terrain and searching for an everlasting challenge that comes with doing something that has not been done before.

It gives connection and necessity when you dedicate yourself to music that is being written now. It is a privilege to live in the same time as the makers, the audience and the subjects being discussed.
