Biography
Anna voor de Wind was born in Groningen, the Netherlands, in 1986. She studied at the Conservatory of Amsterdam clarinet with Hans Colbers and bass clarinet with Erik van Deuren. Anna finished her Master studies in 2010 Cum Laude.
Anna was won several prices in national and international competitions. Since 2003 Anna forms a duo with pianist Annemieke Boot, they have been successful in several international chamber music competitions.
Anna has performed with several professional orchestras and the Nieuw Ensemble. Anna has been a member of the European Youth Orchestra and the National Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands. Summer 2008 and 2009 she participated in the International Ensemble Modern Summer Academy. Season 2008/2009 she was a member of the Ligeti Academy, an educational project by the Asko/Schönberg.
This summer she was invited as Young Artist in Residence with the National Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands. She worked closely with the composer Mark-Anthony Turnage, who wrote her a solo piece. Here she also made her debuut as a soloist with the clarinet concerto by Nielsen.
This Season 2010/2011 she is part of the International Ensemble Modern Academy in Frankfurt. With this she prolonges her studies at the Hochschule of Frankfurt with a Master in Modern Music.
